This article contains a listing of MindTouch site structure errors identified by the site structure report and recommended solutions.


Category errors


►  Category under Guide

Categories are the highest level article type and therefore should not fall under an alternate article type, including Guides. Categories can, however, fall under other Categories. To resolve:

Move Category underneath lowest level Category within hierarchy.
 

►  Category under Topic

Categories are the highest level article type and therefore should not fall under an alternate article type, including Topics. Categories can, however, fall under other Categories. To resolve:

Move Category underneath lowest level Category within hierarchy.
 

►  Category under How-To

Categories are the highest level article type and therefore should not fall under an alternate article type, including How-tos. Categories can, however, fall under other Categories. To resolve:

Move Category underneath lowest level Category within hierarchy.
 

►  Category under Reference

Categories are the highest level article type and therefore should not fall under an alternate article type, including References. Categories can, however, fall under other Categories. To resolve:

Move Category underneath lowest level Category within hierarchy.
 

►  Category under Unclassified

Categories are the highest level article type and therefore should not fall under an alternate article type, including Unclassified articles. Categories can, however, fall under other Categories. To resolve:

Move Category underneath lowest level Category within hierarchy.
 

►  Category under Custom

Categories are the highest level article type and therefore should not fall under an alternate article type, including custom articles. Categories can, however, fall under other Categories. To resolve:

Move Category underneath lowest level Category within hierarchy.
 

Guide errors


►  Guide under Guide

Consider the following two options when addressing this error:

Option 1:  Make Guides siblings Option 2: Change lower level Guide to an article
  1. Move both Guides directly under the lowest level Category.
  1. If the Guide is a parent to other articles, the Guide should be made a Topic. Otherwise, it can be made any article type (such as a Topic, How-to or Reference).
  2. Change article type from Guide to Topic, How-to or Reference.
  3. Remove Guide DekiScript from new article.

►  Guide under Topic

Consider the following two options when addressing this error:

Option 1: Change Guide to Topic Option 2: Change Topic to Guide
  1. Change article type from Guide to Topic.
  2. Remove Guide DekiScript.

  1. Change article type from Topic to Guide.
  2. Move both Guides to become children of lowest level Category.
  3. Add Guide DekiScript to new Guide. To do this:

  2. Move Topic underneath the closest Topic or Guide in its hierarchy.

Topic errors


►  Topic under Category
Consider the following two options when addressing this error:
Option 1:  Change Topic to Guide Option 2:  Move Topic under nearest Guide within hierarchy
  1. Change article type from Topic to Guide.
  2. Add Guide DekiScript. To do this:
  • Paste the following into your code block:

►  Topic under Topic
This is a warning and not a required change. MindTouch advises against deep hierarchies, recommending a horizontal organization as an alternative. To address, make the Topics siblings by moving the lower-level guide up the hierarchy.
 
►  Topic under How-To
Consider the following two options when addressing this error:
Option 1:  Move Topic under nearest Guide or Topic Option 2:  Change How-to to Topic
 
  1. Change article type from How-to to Topic.


 
►  Topic under Reference
Consider the following two options when addressing this error:
Option 1:  Move Topic under nearest Guide or Topic Option 2:  Change Reference to Topic
 
  1. Change article type from Reference to Topic.

 
►  Topic under Unclassified
Consider the following two options when addressing this error:
Option 1:  Move Topic under nearest Guide or Topic Option 2:  Change Unclassified to Topic
 
  1. Change article type from (not set) to Topic.

 
►  Topic under Custom
Consider the following two options when addressing this error:
Option 1:  Move Topic under nearest Guide or Topic Option 2:  Change custom article to Topic
 
  1. Change article type from custom article to Topic.

 

How-To errors


►  How-To underneath Category
Move How-to article to under a Guide.
 
►  How-To underneath How-To

Consider the following two options when addressing this error:

Option 1:  Change top level How-to article to Topic Option 2:  Move bottom level How-to article under a Topic or Guide
  1. Change article type from How-to to Topic.
 

 
►  How-To underneath Reference

Consider the following two options when addressing this error:

Option 1:  Change Reference article to Topic Option 2:  Move How-to article underneath a Topic or Guide
  1. Change article type from Reference to Topic.
 

 
►  How-To under Unclassified

Consider the following two options when addressing this error:

Option 1:  Change Unclassified article to Topic Option 2:  Move How-to article underneath a Topic or Guide
  1. Change article type from (not set) to Topic.

Unclassified errors


►  Unclassified page not under Home page
Unclassified articles can only fall under a Category and only if that Category is the home page. If not, consider the following two options when addressing this error:
Option 1:  Move Unclassified page underneath Home page. Option 2:  Classify the Unclassified page.
  1. Home page must be classified as a Category.
  1. Change article type from (not set) to desired article type.
  2. Add appropriate DekiScript if Category or Guide:
  • If the article type is to be a Category, add Category DekiScript.  To do this:

  • If the article type is to be a Guide, add Guide DekiScript.  To do this:
template('MindTouch/IDF3/Views/Guide');

Consider the following two options when addressing this error:

Option 1:  Change Reference to Topic Option 2:  Move custom article underneath a Topic or Guide
  1. Change article type from Reference to Topic.
 

 
►  {Custom} under Unclassified

Consider the following two options when addressing this error:

Option 1:  Change Unclassified article to Topic Option 2:  Move custom article underneath a Topic or Guide
  1. Change article type from (not set) to Topic.

Consider the following two options when addressing this error:

Other errors


►  Page contains multiple article types

Sometimes an article will have multiple article types. To resolve, change the article type classification to the desired article. If the article type classification is already correct, select an alternate article type, then re-select the appropriate article type.
