This article outlines how to grant users access to specific pages or sections on your MindTouch site.

What you need to have in place

While you may also grant access to an individual user on a page, we do not recommend doing so. Should you ever need to revoke global access to a user who was granted access as an individual user (outside of a group), you would have to search for each page the user was granted access to and manually update each page. If the user is part of a group, you simply have to remove the user from the group to revoke global access.

How to restrict access to your page or section

Follow the steps below to grant access for users to a specific page or section:

  1. Navigate to the page or top page of the section you want to restrict access to.
  2. From the MindTouch toolbar, select Options > Restrict access
  3. Under User/Group permissions, in the User or group text field, type the group's name.
  4. Click Add to list.
  5. If you are granting access to a whole section, click Apply restriction settings to subpages and choose the appropriate option.
  6. Click Save permission settings.

New subpages automatically inherit the restrictions of their parent pages. You will NOT need to individually set restrictions for every new article you create under a restricted page.
