Feature enhancements

  • Touchpoint for Zendesk
Today we are launching our newest feature, Touchpoint for Zendesk. This is a crucial tool for your support agents to understand your customer’s needs by giving search and view history context as well as providing the exact authoritative content to solve their issues. Your agents can meet your customers where they’re at, and be armed in the best way possible to deliver personalized, timely, and most importantly, impactful service.
  • Customer insights Touchpoint tool
Use the customer insights Touchpoint tool with your customer relationship management (CRM) system to learn what problems your customers are encountering when interacting with your product, to empower your support teams to offer the customer new and untried solutions, and to identify and close self-service documentation gaps.
  • Sign-in Touchpoint tool
Our sign-in Touchpoint tool allows your users to log into your MindTouch site from any of your web properties or applications to give them access to product documentation and help content. It is most useful in conjunction with Touchpoint tools that require authentication such as search, search-in-place, and customer insights.
  • Attachment streaming
We have rolled out a new way to stream attachments (images, PDFs, etc). This will only be available for public MindTouch sites and attachments that are publicly available (no added permissions). This change allows those files to be sent to users across the world more efficiently and will be especially useful when loading these files over mobile devices. If you notice issues with your attachments not working, you may need to white-list the domain  Please reach out to MindTouch Support if you have any questions.

Bug fixes

  • Find in view source mode on large pages
We fixed an issue where using the find tool in the editor view source mode would freeze on pages with a large amount of content.
  • Exporting pages with a forward slash in the title
Fixed an issue that prevented the download of pages that contained a forward slash in their title.
  • Find and replace with non-breaking spaces
Fixed an issue where find and replace in the editor couldn't target non-breaking space characters correctly.
  • IE 11 page summary caching
Fixed a caching issue in IE 11 that was preventing recently updated page summaries from displaying correctly.
  • Deleting default classifications
Fixed a usability issue where it appeared that you could delete a default classification from the control panel.
  • Linking to draft images
Fixed an issue where a draft that has a link to an image that is attached to a draft, would cause the link dialog's browse tab to not load.
  • New page creation menu options
Fixed a usability issue where the new and option menus are removed when a new page is in edit mode since they are not needed and will create errors if used.
  • Blank site name
Fixed a validation issue where blank site names in the control panel did not trigger an error on save.
  • Font styles not overriding correctly
Fixed an issue in the editor where font styles applied to partially selected elements that already had a previous style on them were not being overridden correctly.
  • Contact support button in contextual help
We fixed an issue where the Contact support button found at the bottom of some search results pages inside a contextual help Touchpoint tool would not redirect to the support form correctly.
  • Invalid timezone format in RSS feed
Fixed an issue where an invalid timezone format would cause an error in pages/{pageid}/feed.
  • Editor font drop-downs
Fixed an issue where the unique style for font face and font size were not being displayed correctly in their editor toolbar drop-downs.
  • Search-in-place Touchpoint cursor
Fixed an issue where the cursor would jump to the end of the text when typing a query into a search-in-place field even if the original position of the cursor was in the middle of the text.

Upcoming feature enhancements

  • An even more secure MindTouch experience
Most MindTouch customers have moved over to a more secure experience for their users. This move has been to require HTTPS connections completely across their sites (the "S" stands for secure). Google recently announced that they are moving towards encouraging a more secure internet and boosting sites that require an HTTPS encryption method. Enhancing your Google presence can drive even more new and existing customers to your brand. We will be sending out more information regarding this switch on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.

Future deprecations

  • Contextual help migration
MindTouch Touchpoint tools were released over the summer. These embeddable building blocks allow for the sharing of MindTouch content across multiple channels. Our contextual help tool was created to replace our older version of contextual help. Over the next few months, we will be converting these old implementations over to the new contextual help tool. We will be working with those of you still using the old version, to ensure a smooth transition over to the new contextual help tool.

Why should I convert to the new contextual help?
    • Easier to create, customize, and use
    • Allows for the use of anchors links
    • Responsive design that works on any device or resolution

We are targeting a support deprecation date for the old contextual help implementation on March 2, 2017. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please contact MindTouch Support.
  • IE 10 deprecation in May 2017
Back in June, we announced the creation of a legacy browser experience that would allow users to view MindTouch content in deprecated browsers. At the time, we decided that Legacy Browser would work for IE 9 and below. Now that some time has passed and we have analyzed how MindTouch users view content in Internet Explorer, we would like to add IE 10 to that list in accordance with Microsoft's own End of Support announcement earlier this year.
