This tutorial walks through how to add links, create hyperlinks, and specify other link options within a MindTouch article.
How to trigger the dialog
Highlight the word(s) you would like to link and then click on the Insert link icon:
Search and select the link
NOTE: The Update link dialog box loads and automatically searches the site based on the word that you highlighted. If you haven't selected any text, it will create text using the full URL.
The search results will initially display the top 6 results of your query. If you continue scrolling it will populate with the next 6 most relevant search results and will continue to repopulate with more results as you keep scrolling, ending only when you reach the last of the results.
Browse and select the link
If the search results do not match with the article you would like to link to, click the Browse tab and navigate through the hierarchy to find the specific article or attachment you would like to link the text to.
You can also link to attachments through the browse interface as well.
Adding an anchor link
After you've chosen which article you'd like to reference, you can then choose to link to an anchor in that article. Anchor links are used to quickly find a specific area in the content when you have a large article. Users are typically familiar with anchor links in longer FAQ articles.
Once you have selected an article, you will be able to select an anchor or section that has been already defined inside that article. Sections are the headers within your article while anchors are created by using the anchor option within the editor.
Adding An External Link
In the Update link dialog box, in the Link to field, enter the web address of the site you wish to link to, and then click Update link. Be sure to add the full web URL.
You can also highlight a word in the Editor and then right-click it to open the context menu which includes the Link option:
Note that you can also click Ctrl/Cmd + K to load the Link dialog. To remove a hyperlink, you can also use Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + K.
