Hide a section of a MindTouch article (TCS)

This tutorial walks you through the process of hiding a section of an individual article or all articles in your MindTouch site through the use of CSS. 


After completing this tutorial you will have the ability to embed CSS into a MindTouch article, add CSS to your entire MindTouch Help Center and show or hide sections as desired. 

Basic intro to CSS

CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets and is used to modify the look & feel of HTML.  CSS is most commonly used to change things like colors and fonts but it can be used to drastically change the layout of a site.  The examples we provide are focused more on simple CSS modifications.

Embedding CSS into an article

In order to embed CSS into an article you will need to use the following steps

  1. Go to the article that you want to add CSS to 
  2. Make sure the editor is loaded, if it isn't click Edit page
  3. Go to the bottom of the page.
    • If the cursor only shows up in the DekiScript, CSS or JavaScript block just push Shift Enter to escape it. 
  4. In the editor click the Insert menu
  5. Select CSS


  1. Once you have created the CSS block you will need to paste in your CSS
    • You can see the CSS samples in the next steps of this tutorial
  2. Click Save and check to see if your changes have taken effect

Adding CSS to all articles

You can add CSS to all articles in MindTouch through the Control Panel.  In order to access the Control Panel you will need to be an administrator for you MindTouch Help Center.  If you are an administrator you will see the Control Panel link under the Tools menu.  Click the Control Panel link and use the following instructions:

  1. In the left navigation of the Control Panel click Custom Site CSS
  2. Past your CSS into the textarea for the role that your want affect (All Roles CSS, Anonymous CSS...)
  3. Click Save Changes
  4. Check to see if the changes have taken affect
    • You may need to do a Hard Refresh to load your new CSS.  In most browsers this can be accomplished by pushing Ctrl and F5 at the same time.
