Why am I locked out?

Brute force protection locking ensures that if a user fails to successfully log in after a consecutive number of times in order to prevent brute force attacks on your MindTouch site. Brute force attacks are programmed attacks that try to log in using a definition list of usernames and passwords in order to gain access to a site. By default this feature is enabled on your MindTouch site. If 10 failed logins occur within a five minute period they will be unable to log in and given the following message:

This user does not have access to sign in to {Your Site Name}. Please contact your site administrator.

To enable access, an administrator of your site will have to reactivate them in the MindTouch Control Panel.  If you would like to set the number of failed logins to occur at a number higher or lower than 10 and would like to customize your login text, please contact a MindTouch Support Agent.
