On April 21st, 2015, Google altered the way they index webpages to emphasize the use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. By upgrading to the MindTouch Responsive user interface (UI), you will be able to take more control of your brand and push competitors out of your Google results. Google bots can incorrectly display the mobile and desktop versions in some cases leading to frustrated users.
There are two ways to solve this problem: (1) redirect users to the correct version. Google bots crawl pages and notice the relationship between the two versions of the URL and display the standard version for searches from desktops and the mobile version for mobile searches; (2) display the desktop or mobile version based on user agent. The URL will be the same but the format will different. The risk with using the second method is something called "cloaking." Google could mistake your desktop or mobile page for a cloaking page that is designed to fool Google and boost results by having a version only a Google bot can see and a version only users can see. If Google feels like your site is cloaking they will hide your site from any search results, so make sure to establish user agents correctly.
This means that your MindTouch Responsive site, in addition to already being an SEO power house, will now rank even higher in Google search results.
