Publish an article from Salesforce to MindTouch

This article describes how to publish an article from the MindTouch GeniusLink integration in Salesforce. The MindTouch GeniusLink integration allows users to quickly post case information as a new MindTouch article.
 

Prerequisites & important notes


  • Write access to the directory where articles are to be published.
  • Users need to be pro members.
  • Latest version of the MindTouch GeniusLink for Salesforce installed and configured. 
     

Publish an article from Salesforce to MindTouch


To publish an article from Salesforce to MindTouch, follow these steps:

Step 1: Create a new article

  1. Navigate to any case.
  2. Locate the MindTouch integration (right side of page).  
  3. Click the Publish link.


 

Step 2: Review pre-assigned information

The Publishing section automatically assigns the case subject as the article title (Issue) and populates the body with case comments and their respective authors (Solution).

Step 3: Edit article details

Edit the content in the publishing section as necessary.
 

Step 4: Publish the article to MindTouch

  1. Click on Suggest article to submit this article to your MindTouch site.

The article will automatically post as a child page of the configured directory. (Example: if Drafts/ is our configured directory, the article will be created as Drafts/Power_generation_below_stated_level

  1. A success message verifies the article was published.

  1. The published article automatically links to the current case as well.

Overwriting an article


To overwrite an already produced article in MindTouch, perform the following steps:

  1. Click the Publish link
  2. When prompted, click Overwrite article

  1. Click Suggest article.
  2. When prompted choose to either Overwrite the article or Cancel the publish action.

The retrieved case title (Issue) and case comments (Solution) data is pulled from Salesforce, not MindTouch. 

 

  1. The integration displays the link of the successfully updated article.
