How do I remove the table of contents?

This page applies to:MindTouch Responsive

IMPORTANT!  Because CSS is considered unsafe content, only an admin can add CSS code.

The MindTouch table of contents (TOC) is an automatically generated list of all Headings (H1, H2, H3, etc.) on an individual MindTouch article. The TOC is used on an article to quick skip down the page to a specific heading. The TOC also highlights the page structure by indenting nested headings (i.e. H2 is indented under a H1). The TOC is displayed in How-To, Reference or Topic articles.

In some cases, however, you may want to hide the TOC. If so, follow these steps:

  1. Open the page on which you want to hide the TOC in Edit mode.
  2. In the Editor, click Styles and select CSS from the drop-down menu.
    • Tip: This will add a blue CSS box to the page that is only visible when the page is opened in Edit mode.
  3. Add the following code to the CSS box:
#mt-toc-container {
    display: none !important;

Remember: You can apply CSS an individual page or site-wide. If you want to make this change to your entire site, apply the CSS in Control Panel > Custom Site CSS.
