Template types
Both out-of-box and custom templates can have one of three different template types: Default, New Page, or Content.
Default template
Default templates often enable site functions including many Branding settings. Default templates are useful when you want to reference a certain component in multiple templates and typically used for more advanced use cases.
Branding Templates control the look of your Expert site such as your header and footer, login form, 404 page, and more. Learn more in the Expert Branding Guide.
New Page template
New Page templates appear in the Add new page dialog. Standard New Page templates in Expert include: Category, Guide, Topic, How-to, and Reference. You can modify the standard New Page templates or create custom new page templates for page layouts you need that do not yet exist.
Content template
Content templates are snippets of content or code that you can create and then add to any page through the editor.
