A user's activity history displays the pages the user has viewed and the search terms the user has entered. This tool helps you understand how particular users are searching. Unlike the Search report which lists the search activity for all users across the site, this search activity report details the specific searches for an individual user.
When should I view a user's search and view activity?
View a user's search and view activity to guide your customer towards self-service and to monitor the quality and effectiveness of your documentation. Let's say you have a customer who reaches out to your Support team. If the customer is a community member (i.e. logs in to use your site), run a user view and search activity report to learn what information the customer has searched for and which articles, if any, the customer has viewed after searching. If the customer hasn't looked at relevant articles prior to contacting Support, guide the customer to self-service. If the customer has looked at relevant articles, but still couldn't find the right information, consider revising the articles to include missing information or present information more clearly.
