This article outlines how to assign global roles to your contributing (i.e. pro member) users in MindTouch.

What are global roles?

Configuring users as contributing users requires the assignment of a global role. Global roles are access privileges assigned to users (and groups) in the control panel and apply only to your public MindTouch pages.

If your site contains semi-public, semi-private or private pages you have to grant permissions on a page to allow contributing members editorial access. If your site contains semi-public, semi-private or private pages, configure users and groups as Viewers in the control panel, since higher permissions can always be granted on individual pages or sections later as needed.

How to assign global roles to your contributors

  1. On the MindTouch toolbar, navigate to Site tools > Control panel.
  2. Under Users, select the user to edit.
  3. Click Change roles.
  4. Verify the user is a Pro Member.
  5. From the drop-down menu, choose the appropriate contributor role for your user.
