Install GeniusLink in Salesforce Community Cloud (MT4)

This document explains how to include GeniusLink Search in your Salesforce Community.

Setup Salesforce Community Cloud

  1. Install the package: MindTouch GeniusLink for Community Cloud.  The package setup is similar to Step 2. Select the users to grant access to and click Install to proceed.
  2. Follow all the steps in Install GeniusLink in Salesforce Community Cloud

Create a MindTouch Search Widget

As an admin, visit your community management screen and click "Launch Community Builder":

In the community editor, click the dropdown under your community name and click "Go to Studio":

In studio, create a new widget. Click on "Widgets" then "New Widget". Name it "MindTouch Search Widget" and make it visible in the Page Elements Pane and to contributors.

Click the widget name to open it in the editor. Go to the elements pane and insert a single content block. In the properties, set the id to "mtsearch":

Next, select the content block in the hierarchy view (the rightmost icon). Hover the content block and click "Edit HTML":

Paste the contents of this attached file into the widget. Edit the settings on line 15 and line 38 to point to your MindTouch site. You may also enable or disable F1 overlays for search results by setting MindTouch.F1 to true or false.

    MindTouch.SITE_URL = ""; // Your site here
    MindTouch.F1 = true;     // Enable or disable F1 overlay

The default searchbox inside the MindTouch Search widget has been hidden on line 18. This can be enabled if you remove "display: none" from the following section:

<form id="mt-search-form" style="display:none;">
   <input id="mt-solution-finder-input" name="search" placeholder="Enter your search query here" type="text" />

When satisfied with your changes (you may preview the widget), save it and return to the main page of the studio.

Add The GeniusLink Search Widget To Your Template

Next, edit the template for your current template (likely "main") and click "Edit":

Next, find the template that should have the search widget (such as "Napili Search"). Hover this item and click the edit icon.

Inside the template editor, click on the Page Structure view. On the div.headlinePanel folder, click on the gear icon and choose Add Row and Column Panels > Outside the panel... > Insert Row Below:

Your Page Structure should now look like the following:

On the newly created div folder, click the gear a second time and choose Add Row and Column Panels > Inside the panel... > Add Row and Column Panels; add a second panel to the right:

Here you'll want to add in an additional column to the right for the MindTouch Search Widget:

You should now see the following structure:

Next, drag the Results List into the first sub-div folder:

Finally, highlight the secondary div folder, and add the MindTouch Search Widget into this panel:

Publish Your Changes

Lastly, publish your changes to your community.

After your site has been published, you should see the MindTouch Search Widget on your Search Results page:

Clicking a result will open a new window or an F1 overlay depending on your configuration settings.
